Meet the Local Governing Board: Calthorpe
Welcome from the chair
The Local Governing Board (LGB) would like to extend a warm welcome to all parents, students, staff and visitors.
Calthorpe Academy is built on a foundation of shared values and visions. We believe in creating an environment that both challenges and inspires our learners and are committed to nurturing the full potential of every individual. As governors, it is our job to ensure that the Calthorpe Academy vision, ethos and strategic direction is clear and to act as a link to the wider Thrive Trust.
The role of the LGB is to provide support and challenge and to ensure that Calthorpe Academy remains focused on it's mission while holding the leadership team accountable for it’s performance. We are committed to working closely with the head teacher, staff and parents to ensure that the best interests of the learners are always at the heart of everything we do.
Our team of governors bring a wealth of experience from a variety of sectors. Alongside our half termly meetings we also conduct quality assurance visits. During these visits we focus our attention on specialist areas including: Safeguarding, Quality of Education and Health and Safety to ensure Calthorpe Academy are continuing to uphold high standards. We are proud of the achievements of our learners and staff, and we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.
